  • What is the cost of a new combi boiler?
    The size of your home and the number of radiators you have will determine the cost of a new combi boiler. A new combi boiler for a small one-bedroom flat with only five radiators will cost much less than a new combi boiler for a large detached house with lots of bedrooms, bathrooms and radiators.
  • How much does a replacement boiler installation cost?
    For Combi Swap Installations in the same place, we charge £650
  • How long does it take to replace a boiler?
    It can take anywhere from four hours to three days to replace a boiler with a new one. How long your particular boiler installation takes will depend on whether you need a gas line installed and if you’re switching to a new boiler system. Replacing a combination boiler or standard boiler with the same system should only take four to six hours. Meanwhile, switching from a conventional boiler system to a combination boiler system could take a few days.
  • Should I change where my boiler is located?
    Probably not. Moving a boiler to a new location is a very different prospect from replacing it in the same spot, and significantly more expensive. Plus, boilers are typically carefully positioned in proximity to pipes and radiators when installed. Homeowners may want to move boilers to free up space, prevent freezing problems that have happened in winter, or solve a noise issue—but it’s a much more costly proposition.
  • Can I legally install my own boiler?
    No, you cannot legally install your own gas boiler unless you have appropriate certification. Only Gas Safe registered engineers can install gas boilers, while Oil Firing Technical Association (OFTEC) registration is required for anyone installing oil boilers.
  • Can a plumber install a boiler?
    A plumber cannot install a boiler unless they’re Gas Safe or OFTEC registered. Whilst a plumber can service plenty of other components of your heating and hot water system, they can’t legally install a boiler without the appropriate certification, which only heating engineers usually have.
